Salisbury Music Agency was born out of a love for local live music.

SMA was set up and is run by Crissi, a Salisbury resident and Music Lover who spotted a gap in the market whilst helping friends out with their gig promotion.

Crissi has visions of an Agency which provides a personal service to bring together local Venues and Musicians, build relationships, encourage and mentor promotion and create a one-stop place to book Music for every occasion and event.

MY BACKGROUND

In my late teens I took a job in a nightclub, it was supposed to be a stopgap, something to earn a little cash whilst I worked towards my career elsewhere… but it got me! I ended up working there well in to my twenties as a full time manager, not what I set out to do but my favourite job ever! It was there that I found my love of live music, nightlife, event management and promoting. I missed this life so much when I left to have a family.

For the past 16 years I have been working in IT and have done volunteering work outside of this. I worked my way up to being the Senior Web Design and Digital Marketing Consultant within the company. Gained a huge amount of experience in Digital & Web Design, Project Management, Digital Marketing, Social Media, Content Writing, Editing and giving a voice to any kind of Business or Service.

Through my volunteer work I have organised Village Fetes, Community Barbecues, Community Film, Theatre Productions, Barn Dances, Music Festivals, Charity Quiz Nights, Community Games Nights etc etc, the list goes on!

I moved from a small village a few miles away, in to central Salisbury in late 2020. I can honestly say that I have found my people here, or in the George and Dragon if I’m truly honest! I walked in there in early 2022 and I never left. I was welcomed with open arms, met so many cool people and found myself getting to know the most amazing group of musicians who I am proud to call my friends.

I have seen tons of live music since I have been in Salisbury, I’m in awe of the amount of talent this small city has to offer. What I have found though is a pattern in the way that the artists are being presented and booked. Many venues book the same artists on a loop, other artists state that it’s difficult to get a foot in the door. Many artists say they love the gigs, but they hate the management side of the business. Weddings, private parties and corporate events seem to be separated again from both of these. My aim is to bridge the gap by offering an Artist and Band Management Service, with in-house Promoting and Bookings taken directly. Leaving you time to concentrate purely on the music!
